Bruce McCombs is the Founder of The Beverly McCombs Foundation – Dance for Cognitive Enhancement. He enjoys ballroom dancing and is passionate about finding solutions to protect against the risk of Alzheimer’s and related disorders. Bruce, and his beautiful wife, competed in ballroom dancing for several years and have won several Senior Latin Ballroom Dance Championships. Recently, they traded in their competitive dancing shoes and are now avid social dancers.
Bruce is also an experienced, highly awarded Enterprise Software Sales Coach and Speaker. He is a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach (CPCC) and graduate of The Coaches Training Institute (CTI), the world’s leading coaching organization.
Bruce was in high tech sales for many years and there was a constant whisper, ““Bruce you are here to help people reach their potential”. After leaving the software industry, he got his certification as a professional coach.
He helps enterprise sales leaders improve their performance. Bruce is also well known for coaching sales leaders how to use of the Sales Navigation System (SNS) to manage buying preferences and create repeatable frameworks for success in different sales scenarios.
Prior to forming Bruce McCombs Enterprises, Bruce worked in enterprise software sales for over 26 years. He held Sales Leadership positions at Oracle, the world’s second largest software company.
Bruce is a graduate of the University of Texas in Austin. He also volunteers for the Small Business Administration helping entrepreneurs work smarter to plan for their success and is a Toastmaster and public speaker.
Treasurer – K. W. “Hutch” Hutchinson is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Financial Planner™ with over 35 years of financial experience in tax planning and tax preparation, business evaluation and consultation, and financial planning, Additionally he has served as Chief Financial Officer for a number of corporations ranging from startups to public companies.
Hutch received an academic scholarship and graduated from Utah State University, where he majored in Accounting and Finance. He has worked in the tax departments of PricewaterhouseCoopers and Ernst & Young, both “Big 4” international CPA firms. In 1978 he started his own CPA firm, K. W. Hutchinson, CPA, CFP® to serve individuals, partnerships, corporations, and LLCs.
Hutch’s passion is helping individuals and small business owners to minimize the taxes they are paying. He tells people that his competition is not other CPAs — his competition is the Internal Revenue Service and the Franchise Tax Board!
If any return has the word “tax” in it, Hutch probably prepares the return! That includes income taxes (individual, partnership, C corporations, S corporations, LLCs), payroll taxes, sales taxes, property taxes, gift taxes, trust taxes, and estate taxes).
Hutch is an Eagle Scout and is a certified trainer (along with his wife) for Precept Ministries International.
Director – Mark Kanitra has been “Fueling Your Independence” for over 25 years as a marketing professional in the gasoline industry. Mark obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration and Economics from California State University, Fullerton. A part-time job “pumping gas” launched him into a career with Chevron where he rose to the position Strategic Planning Specialist for North America. As a Retail Account Manager, he covered much of Southern California and implemented strategic plans that created over 30 new Chevron stations and contribute annual revenues over $200 million. As the Strategic Planning Specialist he standardized and streamlined Chevron’s annual planning process and led the development of a strategic planning database. He served as the captain of Team Chevron in its efforts on the Susan G. Komen for the Cure events in Orange County. In his six years in this role he increased employee participation over 600 percent. For his efforts, Chevron was recognized as the Largest Corporate Team in 2006, 2007 and 2009.
Mark serves on the Board of Directors as Secretary of the Orange County Product Managers. For the past two years he has represented the OC Product Managers as Volunteers Manager at their signature event, ProductCamp SoCal. There he has built volunteer teams for to manage and market the event. This includes recruiting a “day of the event” staff of over 100 volunteers. As a member of the Clean Technology Council he supports the development and implementation of green technologies; not only to for their benefits to our natural environment, but to the viability of business environment as well. He is currently pursuing opportunities within the alternative fuels industry where he hopes to apply his knowledge of the retail fueling to develop our next fueling infrastructure. Mark is an avid car guy and his interest in the automobile and automotive culture has helped to fuel this interest.
Mark joined the DanCE team in July 2013 because of his firm belief that the best course of action to defeat Alzheimer’s is the prevention of, or at least preparation for, its onset. This is one of the major lessons learned from his experiences with the Susan G. Komen for the Cure teams. DanCE offers a creative and fun method to reach this goal.
