Through the power of DanCE, we can change the Face of Alzheimer’s
Research Cost

The Beverly McCombs Foundation – Dance for Cognitive Enhancement

You might ask yourself:  “If the results of the study are so compelling, why hasn’t the medical community promoted the health benefits of dancing? ”  Quite simply – specific research is required that will determine if social dancing can reduce the frequency and severity of Alzheimer’s and other familiar aspects of aging like adult falls and depression”.

One hundred percent (100%) of all donations will go toward the study since The Beverly McCombs Foundation, which is 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit organization and is staffed by volunteers and operates without overhead expenses.  Thus, your donation is tax deductible to the full extent of the law.

The funds are managed by Fidelity Investments and the Communities Foundation of Texas (CFTexas) https://www.cftexas.org/mccombs.   CFTexas receives charitable gifts, manages charitable assets and makes charitable grants. It is based in Dallas, and is one of the largest community foundations in the USA http://foundationcenter.org/findfunders/topfunders/top25assets.html.

A preliminary budget for the study has been prepared by Dr. Verghese at Albert Einstein College of Medicine (AECOM).  The estimated cost to conduct the first phase of the study is approximately $500,000.  The second phase, or larger study, is estimated to cost $1.6 million.  The money raised will pay for AECOM’s facility cost to conduct the research and fund any necessary support and administrative expenses.   All proceeds raised will be granted to:
